The classic Fears watch. Hand built in Britain in small batches. Graceful and complex, the curvaceous Brunswick is an exacting object to create. It takes its inspiration from a gentleman’s cushion case watch in the Fears archives, first made in 1924 . Case : 38mm, stainless steel, brushed and polished, 20mm lug width Dial : White polished lacquer, with black printing Strap : Fears Blue, barenia calf leather, handmade / 5-link, stainless steel bracelet with screw links and butterfly clasp Movement : ETA 7001, time only, manual winding Water Resistance : 100 metres (10 ATM) CASE The Brunswick’s elegant 38mm cushion-shaped case has no flat surfaces. The case’s graceful curves are machined from 316L stainless steel, to a level usually reserved for precious metals. The depth of the polish showcases the sophistication of the machinery and the skill of the operator. The Brunswick 38 Polar White is manually wound each day using our bespoke ‘onion’-shaped winding crown, signed with the Fears Cypher. The crown’s fine grooves catch the light, adding a touch of radiance to the edge of the case. CASEBACK The Brunswick 38 Polar White comes with the option of either: Open exhibition caseback - offering an unobstructed view of the finely decorated movement housed inside. Closed caseback - offering the perfect canvas for personalisation with a custom engraving (please discover engraving options here ). DIAL The Brunswick 38 Polar White features a hand-polished white lacquer dial, expertly made in Germany by one of the world’s finest dial makers. After several layers of white lacquer are applied, multiple layers of crisp black ink bring the dial to life using a numeral set first used by Fears in 1946 . Positioned at 6 o’clock is the subsidiary seconds dial, and below it is proudly printed ‘England’ to recognise the fact that every Fears watch is hand-built in England. HANDS The Brunswick 38 Polar White features iconic ‘ Fears ’-shaped hands expertly made in Germany. Skeletonised and finished in blue using physical vapor deposition, the colour of the hands changes in the light from almost black to electric blue. MOVEMENT The Brunswick 38 Polar White is powered by a Swiss made, manual winding ETA 7001 movement. This accurate movement was first designed in the 1970s, and its reliability has ensured its continuing popularity today. Each movement features blued screws and Côtes de Genève striping. STRAP The Brunswick 38 Polar White is fitted with a handmade Fears Blue strap crafted from Barenia leather with tonal stitching, lending a classic yet contemporary feel to the watch. The premium leather used for this strap takes its name from the village of Barr in Alsace, from where it originates. Traditionally used for saddles, this smooth calfskin leather requires a complex tanning process, known by only a small number of craftsmen. Lined in genuine Alcantara® dyed a deep shade of blue, this lining is supremely soft against the skin yet resistant against wear. This strap is finished with Fears' bespoke pin buckle (featuring the Fears Cypher) . Customise You can customise your Brunswick 38 with any strap designed for a 20mm lug width, including any strap from our range , which you can easily fit yourself without tools.
