View on Fears’s site ↗Hand built in Britain in small batches. Please note: the Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon has now been discontinued and has entered the Fears Archive - very limited remaining pieces available (if you would like any further information please contact us ) Graceful and complex, the curvaceous Brunswick is an exacting object to create. It takes its inspiration from a gentleman’s cushion case watch in the Fears archives, first made in 1924 , and a dial colour used in the 1940s and 50s. Case : 38mm, stainless steel, brushed and polished, 20mm lug width Dial : Salmon colour, with black printing and hand applied numerals Strap : Black, buffalo leather, handmade / 5-link, stainless steel bracelet with screw links and butterfly clasp Movement : ETA 7001, time only, manual winding Water Resistance : 100 metres (10 ATM) CASE The Brunswick’s elegant 38mm cushion-shaped case has no flat surfaces. The case’s graceful curves are machined from 316L stainless steel, to a level usually reserved for precious metals. The depth of the polish showcases the sophistication of the machinery and the skill of the operator. The Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon is manually wound each day using our bespoke ‘onion’-shaped winding crown, signed with the Fears Cypher. The crown’s fine grooves catch the light, adding a touch of radiance to the edge of the case. CASEBACK The Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon comes with the option of either: Open exhibition caseback - offering an unobstructed view of the finely decorated movement housed inside. Closed caseback - offering the perfect canvas for personalisation with a custom engraving (please discover engraving options here ). DIAL The Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon features a dial similar to those used on special Fears watches in the 1940s and 50s. This rich tone is created using galvanic coatings of 18ct rose gold and copper. Expertly made in Germany, the surface of the dial features a delicate vertical brushing, applied by hand, making each dial unique and allowing it to catch the light in a beautiful, subtle way. This effect is complemented by the concentric circle finishing on the sunken sub-seconds, at 6 o’clock. The hand-applied numerals are milled from a block of brass before being diamond polished and then coated in anthracite, to give a warm, grey finish. These numerals are realised in our custom ‘Edwin’ typeface, specially designed for Fears by our horological typographer and inspired by the many different typefaces the company has used throughout its history. HANDS The Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon features iconic ‘ Fears ’-shaped hands expertly made in Germany. Skeletonised and finished in blue using physical vapor deposition, the colour of the hands changes in the light from almost black to electric blue. MOVEMENT The Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon is powered is powered by a Swiss made, manual winding ETA 7001 movement. This accurate movement was first designed in the 1970s, and its reliability has ensured its continuing popularity today. Each movement features blued screws and Côtes de Genève striping. STRAP Each Brunswick 38 Copper Salmon can be fitted with a handmade Raven Black strap crafted from Buffalo leather (sourced from the Himalayas), lending a more sophisticated feel to the watch. This premium leather is some of the strongest and most durable available. This leather has been tanned in the same way it has been for centuries, using organic materials (and not modern techniques that utilise chemicals). It is not stretched during the tanning process, so is thicker more hard-wearing as a result. Lined in genuine Alcantara® dyed a deep shade of blue, this lining is supremely soft against the skin yet resistant against wear. This strap is finished with Fears' new bespoke pin buckle (featuring the Fears Cypher) . Customise You can customise your Brunswick 38 with any strap designed for a 20mm lug width, including any strap from our range , which you can easily fit yourself without tools.
