View on Fears’s site ↗A British world record attempt Please note: the Fears Brunswick 40 'Odyssey Edition' has now sold out The Fears Brunswick 40 'Odyssey Edition' is a unique timepiece made to commemorate the Great British Odyssey and is a special limited-edition version taking design cues and direct inspiration from the EXPERIMENTAL 01 watch that Angus Collins will be wearing during his Great British Odyssey (GBO) challenge of which Fears are the official timekeeping partner. A portion of each Brunswick 40 'Odyssey Edition' sale will be donated to James' Place , the charity partner of GBO that saves the lives of men in suicidal crisis. Case : 40mm, stainless steel, brushed and polished, 20mm lug width Dial : White colour, with black and red printing and hand-applied indices (featuring X1-Grade Super-LumiNova ® ) Straps : Fears Blue FKM rubber, deployant clasp / Orange MN™ elasticated textile Movement : LJP G101, time-only, automatic, decorated rotor, 68hr power reserve Water Resistance : 150 metres (15 ATM) Limited Edition: 100 pieces Graceful and complex, the curvaceous Brunswick 40 takes its inspiration from a gentleman’s cushion case watch in the Fears archives, first made in 1924 . This sportier iteration of the Brunswick is the perfect all-round watch, taking you from beach to boardroom with ease. CASE The Brunswick 40’s elegant yet sporty 40mm cushion-shaped case has no flat surfaces. The case’s glancing curves are machined from 316L stainless steel, to a level usually reserved for precious metals. The depth of the polish along with the hand grained finish applied to the top of the case’s corners showcase the sophistication of the machinery and the skill of the operator. Complementing the case is our bespoke ‘onion’-shaped winding screw down crown, signed with the Fears Cypher. Screwed into the case, the crown’s fine grooves catch the light, adding a touch of radiance to the edge of the case. Built with uprated proportions, the Brunswick 40 is 150m water resistant (15 ATM), allowing it to be swum in when the crown is screwed all the way in. DIAL The Brunswick 40 'Odyssey Edition' dial shares the layout, special texture and design with EXPERIMENTAL 01 but with an elevated degree of elegance. Expertly made in Germany, the textured surface of the dial is on two levels, both of which are in a practical yet elegant anti-glare white matte lacquer finish. The minute track and Fears name are printed in black, while the 1/4 hour minutes are picked out in an elegant deep red. The hand-applied numerals (where the 12, 3, 6 and 9 hour markers are realised in numerical form with the remainder as indices) are milled from a block of brass before being diamond polished, coated in Fears Blue PVD and then filled with X1-grade Super-LumiNova ® (that emits a cool blue once charged). HANDS The Brunswick 40 ' Odyssey Edition' distinctive ‘ Fears ’-shaped hands are milled from solid brass and polished with a diamond tipped tool. This results in a highly polished surface that catches the light, giving excellent legibility in low-light conditions. These hands are finished in a coating of Fears Blue PVD (that perfectly matches the polished 3D numerals) and then filled with the same X1-Grade Super-LumiNova ® as the applied indices. Whilst in low-light conditions, the bright X1-Grade lume (a first for a Brunswick 40 entering the Fears core collection) glows with a cool blue colour colour and stays charged throughout the night - making for the perfect travelling companion. MOVEMENT The Brunswick 40 is powered by a customised Swiss-made, automatic La Joux-Perret G101 movement (that has had the date function removed). Winding itself when worn on the wrist this movement boasts a generous power reserve of 68 hours and a decorated winding rotor. STRAPS The Brunswick 40 ' Odyssey Edition' will come as a package with two straps included; Fears Blue Sailcloth FKM The main strap is another innovation from Delugs in the form of an FKM rubber strap in signature Fears Blue (finish
