The return of the Jump Hour Please note: The Fears Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour ‘Coral Lacquer’ has now sold out and will not be returning to the Fears core collection. The Fears Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour takes a similar form to the Alliance 01 , housed in an elegantly curvaceous cushion shaped case with a few tweaks on the original. The design of our iconic Brunswick Jump Hour now evolves with not just new dial colours but also a revised dial design that features a new minute track and different finishing options. Case : 40.5mm, stainless steel, brushed and polished, 20mm lug width Dial : Coral Lacquer Strap : Black , premium buffalo calf leather, handmade Bracelet: 5-link, stainless steel bracelet with screw links and butterfly clasp Movement : Christopher Ward's JJ01 Module, Sellita SW200 base Water Resistance : 100 metres (10 ATM) Hand built in Britain. Graceful and complex, the curvaceous Brunswick silhouette takes its inspiration from a gentleman’s cushion case watch in the Fears archives, first made in 1924 . CASE The Brunswick’s elegant 40.5mm cushion-shaped case has no flat surfaces, with even the solid case back having a gentle sweep. The case’s graceful curves are machined from 316L stainless steel, to a level usually reserved for precious metals. The depth of the polish showcases the sophistication of the machinery and the skill of the operator. The traditional and bespoke ‘onion’-shaped winding crown, signed with the Fears Cypher, has fine grooves catch the light, adding a touch of radiance to the edge of the case. DIAL Set in a rich hand-polished lacquer in the singular colour of coral, this dial is e xpertly made with its surface on two levels. The polished lacquer has a glossy appearance, quite unlike a paint or varnish that gives true depth to the colour. As this a ‘jump hour’ watch there are no hour numerals on the dial, instead the hour is displayed via a window at 12 o’clock. The disc displaying these numerals is coated in a bright white lacquer before the hours are printed in glossy black ink in Fears bespoke ‘Edwin’ typeface that's been enhanced for display in a round window. The hour window is surrounded by a hand-applied silver ring, coated in black PVD that allows the hand finishing to shine through while giving excellent contrast with the brightness of the main dial. The chapter rings are each machined with bevels before being finished by hand with brushed and polished surfaces. These multiple finishes catch the light while mirroring the polished bezel surrounding the crystal. HAND With the hours displayed neatly in a window, only one hand is required for telling the time. The ‘Fears-shaped’ minute hand includes dual-finishing with half the hand polished to a mirror shine while the other half is frosted and the other half a finish that best complements the dial configuration. The combination of this pair of finishing techniques ensure perfect legibility at all angles, even in low light conditions. The Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour Coral Lacquer has a black PVD coated hand to match the appliques). MOVEMENT The Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour is powered by a Swiss made, automatic winding JJ01 movement with a module developed in-house by Christopher Ward (which was originally used in the Fears x Christopher Ward Alliance 01 and is now only exclusively supplied for use by Fears). Powered by a Sellita SW200, this movement is incredibly accurate, having been regulated to Chronometer grade. STRAP The Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour Coral is fitted with a handmade Raven Black strap crafted from Buffalo leather (sourced from the Himalayas), lending a more sophisticated feel to the watch. This premium leather is some of the strongest and most durable available. This leather has been tanned in the same way it has been for centuries, using organic materials (and not modern techniques that utilise chemicals). It is not stretched during the tanning process, so is thicker more hard-wearing as a result. The strap is lined in genuine Alcanta
