Nepal Fire Truck Expedition Timekeeper

From Kobold

In November 2022, Kobold organised a g rand adventure in the tradition of past Kobold-sponsored exploits: The Nepal Fire Truck Expedition. The expedition covered over 12,000 kilometers (7,500 miles) between Berlin and Kathmandu and traversed hostile, terrorism-plagued regions in eastern Turkey and along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The expedition also entered Iran at the height of the protest movement. In Nepal, the expedition criss-crossed the country, stopping in remote regions in the Himalayas and at UNESCO World Heritage sites. Conceived in 2011 by Michael Kobold and the late actor and Kobold brand ambassador James Gandolfini, the Fire Truck Expedition is a cornerstone of the Kobold ethos - Embrace Adventure. All worthwhile pursuits are littered with obstacles and the fire truck expedition has seen its share - geopolitical machinations, natural disasters, inter-governmental rivalries, attempted bribe-taking and much more! At Kobold, we are proud of our commitment to Nepal. The ancient city of Kathmandu, along with Pittsburgh and Berlin, is one of three homes of the Kobold brand of watches and expedition tools. In 2024, Kobold sent one additional firefighting vehicle to a community in Nepal, again via an overland expedition mostly tracing the route of the 2022 expedition. The next overland expedition is planned for 2026. Stay tuned for more! Koboldians who support this cause by purchasing the Fire Truck Expedition Timekeeper receive a $250 credit towards the purchase of Kobold accessories (straps, leather accessories, etc.) or out-of-warranty service. Thank you for your consideration! The Fire Truck Expedition Timekeeper is covered by a Non-transferrable Lifetime Warranty - "If it breaks, we replace it!"
