Introducing, the Guild Timepieces Mekong - Black Ops A stealthy nod to the Operational history of the MACV-SOG. The Black Ops edition of the Mekong features a classic matte black dial and black DLC case MACV-SOG: SOG (Studies and Operations Group) later renamed MACV-SOG (Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group) was an elite, secret U.S. special operations unit in Vietnam. SOG conducted high-risk black ops, sabotage, recon, and rescue missions in enemy or neutral territory like Laos and Cambodia. Their missions were classified for decades and remain some of the most dangerous and legendary operations in U.S. military history. This watch is intended to highlight and pay homage to Black Ops operators of SOG, who gave their blood and lives in service to The United States and It’s Allies. Approximate 2,000–3,000 U.S. personnel served with SOG including U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets), Navy SEALs, Air Force specialists, CIA operatives, and support staff. Less than 600 service members served at the tactical level. Of those 600 operators half where killed in action with 58 still listed missing in action. We thank them for their service and sacrifice in protecting freedom during the eight-year Secret War. The dial displays our original logo at 12 o-clock.
